Where we are

Toscana Mia cookery programs in Chianti are held at Podere Le Rose.

Podere Le Rose is our "casa colonica" (an Italian farmhouse typical of the Tuscan countryside) built in the 13th century, which means before Michelangelo and Leonardo, where we produce extra virgin olive oil and the vegetables and fruit we bring to our table.

Podere Le Rose is located in Poggio San Polo, a delightful medieval Italian "borgo", with a few private houses in the heart of the Chianti Classico hillside, half an hour from Siena and an hour from Florence (see map).

Podere Le Rose is a typical house of the Tuscan countryside with terracotta floors, chestnut beams, wood fire. In its organic garden vines, olive trees, roses, oleanders, geraniums, spices, fruit trees and other typical plants of the area flourish, all in the peacefulness and the panorama of un unspoilt countryside.
In the area surrounding Podere Le Rose, you can discover the treasures of Chianti, a region of Tuscany which is well-known for its castles, its medieval "borghi", its wine producers, its skilled craftsmen, its warm and hospitable people, its restaurants, its typical Tuscan food, and - of course -for the Chianti Classico wine and for extra virgin olive oil.
The Chianti region offers picture-book rural scenery, from fields to sunflowers to rows of ubiquitous pencil pines in the hazy distance. Smaller towns such as Radda in Chianti, Monteriggioni, Volterra, San Gimignano etc. are all an easy drive away, and reveal stunning atmosphere and scenery. Being centrally located, Tuscany is well connected by highways and fast rail network to the rest of Italy, so people can easily visit other areas after or before their stay at Podere Le Rose.
