Italian Cooking and Wine Group Course

The hands-on course covers traditional, home-style Tuscan and Italian recipes. We cook in a classic private apartment in central Florence to allow students to see a little of how a typical Italian family lives, and to allow people to step out before and after the class to see world heritage sites such as the Duomo or take a bus ride up to the beautiful hill station of Fiesole. The classes are held in a friendly atmosphere and through them you’ll have the chance to learn a few secrets from Simonetta and Paola. We cook and eat dishes prepared using fresh, natural and organic ingredients. A complete meal (4 recipes) such as appetizers, a pasta dish, a vegetable or meat dish and then a dessert is prepared every day and is accompanied by the wine which best complements it.

An example of our most popular menus:
  • Antipasto (Starter): Bruschetta or Crostini with Herbs
  • First Course: Fresh hand-made pasta or Potato gnocchi or Dry pasta with red or White sauces or Ribollita (typical Tuscan vegetable soup)
  • Second Course: Roasted meat (Arista alla Fiorentina), Turkey breast with Balsamic Vinegar or Stuffed vegetables or savory Cakes with Zucchini
  • Dessert: Tiramisù or Panna Cotta or Gelato
  • Many more menus are available and we always ask our clients if they have special requests and if there is any food allergy. We can create vegetarian and gluten free menus.
  • Starting Time: 9:30 am or 4:00 pm
  • Duration: approx. 4 hours
  • Location: an apartment in Florence (the location of Toscana Mia in Florence)
  • Number of Participants: minimum 2 persons, maximum 5
  • Instructors: Simonetta or Paola de’ Mari
We offer 1- to 5-day Cooking programs

Kids can easily take part in our classes as we have great experience in making them feel comfortable with cooking. Have a look at our Family Program!

I spent one week with Simonetta. We went to the market to see what was available. We cooked pasta, beans, sauces, focaccia, vegetables and salads. I learned home cooking, Italian style, in a very relaxing, interesting and fun space. A family who have always considered fresh best. A family with gobs of Italian history. I can't wait to go back and take another week's course in their countryside house. You can also study the Italian language. The herbs we used in the Florence cooking lessons were from their family farm.” From TripAdvisor
