Family Program

When travelling with the family, the ideal is to slow things down a bit and the best way to do so is joining a cookery group in a real kitchen: cooking and tasting good, healthy food
...with other people... meeting someone new...?
When visiting the area it could be nice to spend some hours cooking together, visiting a typical market or tasting wine together with Simonetta and Paola and other companions.

For parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles who want to discover more about Italian food, sharing this experience with their children.
As a mother of teen and kid (14 and 10-year-old girls), I know that for them making their own dough with their hands is far more satisfying and interesting than playing with a ready commercial product. At the end they can mix also colorful things such as tomatoes and mozzarella and eat what they have done, possibly making a kind of pizza dough and ice cream (gelato).
In this way, they play, create, taste and smell.
Kids from 3 to 15, with their aprons and chef’s hats, learn how easy it is to choose fresh food and to cook.
Tots can play with us when we’re cooking or in the room next to the kitchen.
We offer 1- to 5-day cooking programs.
We can organize private programs for families with minimum 6 persons.
The courses are intended for children accompanied by an adult.

As I am writing this review of our family's experience cooking with Simonetta and Paola last summer, I am about to go buy the ingredients to hopefully recreate one of the wonderful dishes we made on that wonderful day,….. we loved our experience in the beautiful Tuscan farmhouse overlooking vineyards and olive groves of the Chianti. You are cooking in their kitchen, in their home, a unique experience by any measure. Everything was delicious and we really did much of the preparation as a group (our family of four, plus a wonderful additional participant who was staying the week). …We learned much about food that enriched our knowledge of the area and our experience in general. Yes, it's expensive, but worth it” From Trip Advisor

To me, Toscana Mia is a true culinary experience. It's not only about learning how to cook, but it's about where you are cooking, who you are cooking with, the origins and tradition of the foods you are cooking, and all of the laughs and stories along of the way. In all of these respects, Toscana Mia excels, and I feel very fortunate to have been a part of the Toscana Mia experience. Paola and Simonetta and their family welcomed us as long lost relatives. My family of four included two kids (16 and 12) and they had a great time. This is perfect for teens. Getting away from the regular tourist sites of Italy was so refreshing. We got to see the countryside, visit with a family, prepared and ate a meal, and then went wine tasting. If you are looking for a truly a local experience with a family that is genuinely welcoming, I highly recommend visiting Toscana Mia!!
